this tiny fragile bud
struggling hard
to hold it`s head
towards the sun
each day growing
stronger and taller
until one day the moment
when this bud changes
and for this to happen
its opens up slowly
tentatively revealing
the secrets held within
can be seen from inside
as its sepals move aside
so all can be exposed
such passionate reds
lighting up the woods
as time moves along
the bud opens wider
its velvety petals
curl further to reveal
the heart of this flower
its beauty for all to see
The wonder of an opening bud, revealing the soft bright coloured petals of sheer beauty....!
