Day 16

Today’s prompt takes its inspirations from Christopher Smart’s “Jubilate Agno.”  wondrous  we`re challenged to write a poem that uses the form of a list to defamiliarize the mundane.

Moon

Slowly this source alludes light from afar
Slowly its arc swings like a bow above
Slowly darkness swallows our heat
Slowly the giant dung beetle rolls onward
Slowly the old man watches our orb
Slowly descending through the blackness
Slowly space and nothingness surrounds us
Slowly each sparkle of tiny dots flash
Slowly light follows night as God gets his rest
Slowly the earth circles the sun, changing life
Slowly we cope with the elements thrown at us
Slowly warmth and light return to the fold.
