Day 21 NaPoWriMo  Challenge

Today, we`re challenged you to write a poem that incorporates wild, surreal images. Try to play around with writing that doesn’t make formal sense, but which engages all the senses and involves dream-logic.

Papered Woods

taking a short cut home
where he found himself
in the middle of a wood
tall trees from ancient times
darkening his journey
with wall papered bark
peppered with sunflowers
shimmering in silver moon light

through sweet perfume scented air
a kaleidoscope of tissued wings

fluttering before the luminous crescent
creates flicking light of a passing train
he turns in shock to hear the noise
yet silence is the only thing that`s heard
standing amid this magical place
these papered woods reveal their mystery
