Day 22  NaPoWriMo Challenge

Today, we`re challenged to write a poem that engages with another art form – it might be about a friend who paints or sculpts, high school struggles with learning to play the French horn, or a wonderful painting, film, or piece of music experienced – anything is in bounds here, so long as it uses the poem to express something about another form of art.
Happy writing!

Forged Artistry

the artistry of creating beauty from mild steel
through the power of a roaring hot forge
with rhythmic sounds of hammer on anvil
shaping each piece of metal into new life

the sequence of forging gate or rail
through sheer blood, sweat, heat and soot
sizzling red hot charcoal beaconing steel
then back to shape over the anvil horn

malleable steel beaten into awesome items
elegant curves and twists to catch the eye
each creation has it`s own uniqueness
yet forged in their own signature style

delicate hand painted roses and tulips
to hanging baskets and toilet roll holders
the artistry found in creating master pieces
Blacksmithing is an ancient profession
