Colours of Spring

Spring flowers bring joy to the heart

bright colours and sweet scents all around

from tulips, daffodils to apple blossom

mixed in with music of song bird abound

with a mixture of sunlight and deep shadow

spreading all across Mother Earth

as the sun journeys along its arc in the sky

influencing every single flower and creature

from a little blue tit chirping the leaves

a young cat warming her fur in the sunlight

frogs keeping cool among the water iris

as the rays of the afternoon sun sines bright

not until dusk slowly creeps across the land

as the heat of the sun now loses its strength

the evening chorus can be heard once more

as passing shadows begin to grow in length
