Today`s challenge is to write a poem that anthropomorphizes a kind of food. It could be a favourite food or one that conflicts feels.

Asparagus look smart in the garden

tall soldiers of the vegetable patch

standing to attention in the sunshine

all wearing fancy hats that match

not long before they will be ready 

to begin their final journey 

as they`re off to the table in the sky

each one proud to serve their army

one by one they`re picked for the pot

for they don`t hide in in a dark corner

tall, tasty and full of goodness

asparagus solders full of honour
