Watching the Storm...

Black thunder clouds
rolling on in
heavy lashing rain
keeping us within

wrapped up warm
by the open fire
sandbag placed
wondering how much higher

flashes of lightning
brightens up the sky
black silhouettes
capturing the eye

roads turn to rivers
branches on the ground
the air feels heavy
with a thunderous sound

going to be a long night
while trying to keep warm
as the rain lashes down
love watching the storm !
