Day 11 National Poetry Writing Month 2020
#NaPoWriMo
Prompt - Language of flowers
Victorian were particularly ga-ga for giving each other bouquets that were essentially decoder-rings of meanings. Challenged to write a poem in which one or more flowers take on a specific meaning.
Flowers have their own mystery
secrets held throughout our history
there`s joy in receiving a bouquet
brightening up such a special day
to wander gardens full of glory
with flowers send a secret story
expressing courtship and affection
yet warnings of anger and rejection
these flowers are full of mystery
long may last through the centuries
