Day 17  National Poetry Writing Month  2020

Prompt -  challenge to move backwards in time away from such modern contrivances as podcasts,  Today write a poem that features  Forgotten technology.  maybe a VCR or a rotary phone. A cassette player or even a radio.

#NaPoWriMo

We take technology for granted
years ago this was not the case
for what we had, we thought great
who`d have believed we`d visit space

remembered iconic items from the past
symbols of a more laid back time
twin tub and our yellow Eubank
both would clean us of nasty grime

pulling my hair out with dial up internet
with that horrid sound as we`re connected

not forgetting the bright red phone box
pleading with operator when disconnected

black and write telly with no remote control
and the clickity click of dad`s typewriter
coming from his office at the back of the house
while we`re outside playing, all seemed brighter

so looking back on the good old days
my childhood wasn`t full of woe
we weren't weighed down with gadgets
just innocence play many years ago!
