Day 18  National Poetry Writing Month 2020

Prompt -  Saturdays,  lets honour them. by challenging you to write an ode to life`s little pleasures. Perhaps the first sip of the morning or finding some money in the pockets of an  old jacket, finding a nest in a lilac bush or just looking up at the sky and watching the clouds go by.
Happy writings!

Ode to Dawn

waking up to a brand new day
kaleidoscope of coloured sky
a silence moment to be enjoyed
before this fireball get too high

to stand here beneath these colours
stretching right across the horizon
to chords of chirping dawn choruses
this is going to be a good one!

colours merge and change once more
as the sun travels along it`s arc
shadows fade and sunlight brightens
each dawn`s unique and leaves its mark
